Here is a bedroom design idea to steal for your space.

Mix antelope print, Kelly Green bedding, gold accents and faux sheepskin, hang a rattan chair, snake skin wallpaper in the bathroom and you have the perfect recipe for an on trend look, yet one that is unique and unusual enough to show you march to your own drums.

Keep it all animal neutral except add to the mix in  one or two strong colors to spice up the relaxed look.  Personally I’m pretty obsessed with Kelly Green mixed with tans, black and gold!

Paint colors:   Kelly Green // Arizona Tan

The Deco Bedding in Kelly Green has Asian influence which feels current, mixes well with ethnic prints and adds glamour.

    Mix in some…

…irresistible Antelope wall paper on one wall.

Or maybe its in your bathroom?

Now you’ve got the rustic modern going on.

Faux sheep skin hides casually thrown on the bed and in a chair gives the room a relaxed cozy vibe.

Black Mark Pillow and Asphalt Monogram Pillow

Mix in Glamorous geometric embroidered pillows to keep it modern.

    Green Lamp

Add a sleek Green Lacquered Lamp with brass base.  (I sourced this for a client’s foyer this week and became so obsessed with it we had to add it to our very small curated lighting section on our site.)

    It’s irresistible!

Additionally the “piece the resistance”…for your bedroom…

    Natural Maze Jill Sorensen

Our Maze carpet now available in MAZE Natural.

The pale modern trellis pattern is the perfect subtle backdrop.

    Jonathan Adler Sputnik Chandelier

Add a Sputnik chandelier. I love this one from Jonathan Adler but it’s expensive. I recommend searching for vintage chandeliers online.

This has been a crazy busy week as we are heading to the Las Vegas Market tomorrow to debut my label Jill Sorensen Lifestyle. We have a U-Haul truck filled to the brim with bedding and stuff that Mehr will bravely drive to Vegas.

We’ve been been working around the clock to get stuff ready,  adding some new products and streamlining the website for a  better look.  Ive been managing that in between ordering faucets and tile and making endless renovating decisions. No wonder I really haven’t slept at night!

If you are a designer, store owner or guest at Las Vegas Market, come on by and say hello to Mehreen and me. We’ll be in booth C5-131. Looking forward to meeting some of you!

A lot of the stuff coming out has been inspired by whats right outside my front door. These amazing Camellia’s are lending their color to the Magenta Mark embroidered pillow.

The big tropical leafs leaning on my door stoop have made their way on to my first sheet pattern. We’ll have our first prototype at Vegas Market of what we call….

Handling all of this out of this little bungalow which is stuffed to the brim is a bit of a challenge. We are excited for the move and big office space!

Hope to see you in Vegas!!

Hope you had a good weekend!

This week we’re participating in the Westedge Design fair, a big design event here in LA that takes place at the Santa Monica Airport hangar. If you are in Los Angeles Thursday through Sunday this week come on by! You can e-mail Mehreen at contact@jillsorensen.com and she’ll send you a link to get free tickets. Would love to meet you!

I have never designed a booth and a pop up store, so hoping it will turn out okay! Honestly a bit nervous about it. This event is filled with sleek, cool, modern brands, so I was a little worried how all our color would be received, but decided instead of toning it down, go all the way.

We figured it hopefully will put a smile on someones face. Decorating after all should not be a serious affair, it should be fun!

Also in honor of all this we are hosting a MAJOR SALE for a LIMITED TIME on the Jill Sorensen Lifestyle.

    photo 1(3)

I designed a new headboard that will be part of it, FLORENCE in a turquoise chenille velvet.

    A very old Hollywood vibe.

    photo 2(4)

Only have snap shots. But hope you can see.

I checked on the signage, it will go above the bed.

    Can’t wait to see.

The walls will be a purple/lavender. I hope the hue will look right with the lighting in there which I have yet to see.

And the floors will be covered in our new ALOE MARK cotton carpet.

    Lots of colors.

And of course all of our bedding designs will be there.

We’ll probably use the Purple Rain Deco bedding

This is the website for the event.

I hope to meet some of you this week!

I’m happy that we finally have a place where people can come and see and feel the products in person.

They kind of do make you feel like decorating is fun.
